Description

These festive Patriotic Oreo Balls are the perfect no-bake treat for summer holidays like the 4th of July or Memorial Day. Made with crushed Oreos, cream cheese, and dipped in red and blue candy melts, they’re easy to make, fun to decorate, and always a crowd favorite!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb 2.12 oz Family Size package Oreo Cookies
  • 8 oz block cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 12 oz bag red candy melts
  • 12 oz bag blue candy melts
  • 1/3 cup Ghirardelli white melting wafers
  • White star confetti sprinkles for topping

Instructions

  1. Place parchment paper on two baking sheets to prevent sticking, then set them aside for later use.
  2. Add the Oreo cookies to a food processor or high-speed blender and blend until finely ground. If you don’t have a processor, use a zip-top bag and rolling pin to crush them.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add in the Oreo crumbs and mix on medium speed until fully combined.
  4. Using a 1.5-inch cookie scoop, portion the dough into even balls. Roll each between your palms until smooth and place them on the prepared trays.
  5. Refrigerate the Oreo balls for 2 hours or freeze for 15–20 minutes if you’re short on time.
  6. Melt the blue candy melts in a double boiler or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Dip half of the balls, let excess drip off, and place back on the tray. Immediately top with white star sprinkles.
  7. Refrigerate the blue-coated Oreo balls until the coating is set.
  8. Melt the red candy melts using the same method. Dip the remaining Oreo balls, shake off excess, and set them on the tray.
  9. Melt the white melting wafers and transfer to a piping bag. Snip off a small tip and drizzle white chocolate over the red-coated Oreo balls.
  10. Chill all Oreo balls again for at least 10 minutes or until the coating is completely firm.
  11. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve. Display on a patriotic-themed platter for an extra festive presentation!

Notes

  • Use full-fat cream cheese for best consistency and flavor.
  • Chill the Oreo balls well before dipping to keep them from falling apart in the melted coating.
  • For smoother candy melts, stir in a small amount of coconut oil if needed.
  • You can substitute almond bark for candy melts and color it with oil-based food coloring.
  • Pop rocks make a fun garnish but are best added just before serving to maintain their fizz.
