Description

These easy Cherry Pie Bars have all the flavors of a classic cherry pie but in a convenient bar form. With a buttery crust, sweet cherry filling, and a delicious glaze, they are perfect for any occasion!

For the Bars:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks), softened to room temperature
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 (21-ounce) cans cherry pie filling

For the Glaze:

 

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract
  • 23 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 pan.
  2. Cream butter, sugar, and salt until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla and almond extract. Gradually mix in flour.
  3. Spread ⅔ of the dough into the pan. Spread cherry pie filling over the dough, then drop spoonfuls of the remaining dough on top.
  4. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely.
  5. Mix powdered sugar, vanilla, almond extract, and milk for the glaze, then drizzle over the bars.
