For the Filling:
- 24 ounces fresh or frozen blackberries
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon flour
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 dash salt
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
For the Crumble:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 dashes salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine blackberries, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, and lemon juice. Stir gently until the berries are coated. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
- For the crumble, mix the flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl. Add the softened butter and mix with a fork or your fingers until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the blackberry layer.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the blackberries are bubbling.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
