Description

This quick and flavorful dish combines seasoned ground beef with vibrant bell peppers and jasmine rice, making it a perfect weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 small onion, thinly sliced
2 cups cooked jasmine rice
2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Optional: Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

1. Cook the Ground Beef:
– In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up into crumbles.
– Drain excess fat if needed, then stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, ground ginger, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes to blend the flavors. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

2. Sauté the Vegetables:
– In the same skillet, add a drizzle of sesame oil if needed and cook the sliced red and green bell peppers along with the onion over medium heat.
– Stir occasionally until the vegetables are tender-crisp, about 5-7 minutes.

3. Combine and Serve:
– Add the cooked ground beef back to the skillet with the vegetables and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
– Serve the beef and pepper mixture over a bed of jasmine rice. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
